The publisher of PUBG, the most popular battle royale game, Krafton Corporation, has announced its all-new project, which is based on the largest fantasy, adventure and sci-fi novel called “The Bird That Drinks Tears.”
The publisher acquired the rights to the Korean novel The Bird That Drinks Tears, as it recently revealed that it has moved into the full production stage of the game, that is, in advanced stages of the development process, and has also launched an official website for it that contains a lot of information about it and technical backgrounds.
The Bird That Drinks Tears series was released during 2003, and consists of four parts written by Korean author Yeondo Lee, one of the most famous authors and pioneers of science fiction in the country. The story revolves around the four races (Human, Rekkon, Tokebi, Nhaga) and the discovery of a conspiracy by Nhaga that causes Three races meet together
Krafton has recruited many talents and professionals for his project, which he considers “my world” as video game co-artist Iain McCaig stated about the upcoming title and said:
The Bird That Drinks Tears is unlike any other fairy tale I’ve read, in that it offers new ways to explore human nature.
It’s on par with The Lord of the Rings or The Dunes.
The fantasy world is fresh and intuitive, blending traditional archetypes with completely original images of dreams and nightmares.
Krafton is aggressively recruiting the best developers in the world to work on it.

If the publisher wants to make this project one of his biggest future projects that will be released in the coming years, as according to the representative’s description, the company is hiring the best talent from developers to work on the game.
It’s not clear which studios affiliated with the publisher giant are working on this new project, whether it’s Team PUBG, Bluehole Studio, Striking Distance Studios, or Unknown Worlds, but we’re waiting for more details to be revealed in the coming days.
