
State of Decay 3 developer Undead Labs appears to be borrowing some mechanics from Gears of War, according to Xbox Studios Director Matt Buttie.
Xbox Studios chief Matt Botti spoke through Larry Hryb, Xbox’s Major Nelson’s YouTube podcast, about several upcoming projects for the device and Microsoft’s current plans, as well as the topic of the Activision acquisition that ignited social media earlier today, and also mentioned a game State of Decay 3 and its association with Gears of War.
Matt said Undead Labs is currently collaborating fully with The Coalition to learn Unreal Engine 5 technologies for State of Decay’s upcoming zombie game, and will draw inspiration from Gears of War from The Coalition.
The game was announced in 2020, and this is only two years after the release of the second part, and the next part will focus on the elements of survival more than ever, and will contain more variety of enemies than the previous parts.
